In creating Drone Pilots here at the lab we do more than just fly our drones for fun! Students will be challenged in this class to operate their drones accurately and perform heavy duty tasks such as rescue and inspection. IDEA Lab builds well rounded drone pilots!

IDEA Lab Kids teaches all the basis of piloting drones. Starting with rules and regulations to make safe UAV Pilots! Students will learn about the FAA drone rules and regulations and flight safety all while flying their drones and practicing their piloting skills. When they've finished up with the rules and regulation they'll be ready to take to the sky.

Not only does IDEA Lab build strong technical drone pilots, we also develop drone engineers that can design, build, test and pilot their own drones! From 3D Printing their own drones to hacking a previously made drone and making other unique things to pilot, drone engineers at IDEA Lab Kids are one of a kind!

In drone programming at the lab Students will cover topics including basic block programing, Arduino, fundamental coding syntax, variables, logic statements, among others.

Drone photography is the capture of still images and video by a remotely-operated or autonomous unmanned aerial vehicle. Learn and practice drone photography and its tricks. Students will learn how to become a leading drone photographer and videographer in the various drone photography and cinematography classes offered at The Lab.

Drones have changed the way many of the world operates. Drones have made it possible to reach places otherwise unreachable! IDEA Lab Kids teaches and encourages the beneficial use of drones to help the world around us! Students will learn how drone delivery of packages can help in rural areas, how drones can be used to assess damage after a natural disaster and much more!

Drone racing is a sport type where students control "drones" (typically small radio-controlled aircraft or quadcopter), equipped with cameras while wearing head-mounted displays (FPV)s showing the live stream camera feed from the drones. Students will practice hand eye coordination, flight rules and regulations and compete against their peers.
